The Horror, The Horror

Oh, no. It has begun. 

Can’t listen. Can’t watch. 

Every day some new low. 

Vulgarity. Pettiness. Ugliness. 

Some old contorted narrative, 

some more indecent braggadocio.

But this brazen broadcast 

streams straight from our

congressional chamber, 

transmogrifies our airwaves,

powers idiocy outward,

encompasses the globe.

Well then, pluck up courage. 

Heart of Darkness ahead.

We should try to listen to

his conclusion, at least:

Together we will strengthen

our borders, we will build—

and you know I’m a builder—

we will build that big, beautiful

Wall— and you know who is 

going pay for it—Mexico.

That’s right. 

Together with our heroes, with

faith in the flag, our flag, faith 

in our military, in our boys—and

also in our women—no one

cherishes our women more

than I do, believe me—

Together we will work to—what?

—that’s right. To Make America 

Great Again. God bless our Country. 

And our National Anthem—for which 

we stand—and everyone should stand—

and pledge our loyalty. Loyalty first. Amen.
