Rattled

Rattled

The migrating part in that hair rattles me.
I swear it’s higher up the head than it was
and keep close watch on the weird wisps
he teases and combs over, covering what
Ivanka let fall was scalp surgery. I’m fairly
sure the ducktail strands of side and back
are not as long as they were, either. Does it
take less adhesive now, to batten it all down?
Less Executive Time to be ready to ignore
the press gaggle’s shouts about the immigrant
child ripped from its mother’s breast as he
passes to board the copter for Mar-a-Lago?
He holds the handrail, hurries up those steps
knowing how absurd he can look if the full wind
catches him, fans out all that’s left.  I think that
possibility, not the tightening investigation, may
still be what rattles him the most.
