Snirt Season
Snirt Season
…happens when old snow
is not frequently refreshed
by new snow, as it was so
nicely all through February.
But so far March has given
us a foot and then gotten stingy,
so snirt now borders
our sidewalks and roads.
March distracts us
with wild winds—
gusts up to 36 mph,
my phone tells me—
but still I prepare to leave
for the Statehouse Protest—
where temps will feel like
minus one degree!
We protesters shall not
be deterred by wind, nor
snirt, nor sub zero temps.
We shall carry our signs
and defy Trump, Musk, and
all their tax avoiding supporters—
until Zelensky and Ukraine get
the support they need and deserve.
