 A Word About Catsup

Google allows me to spell catsup

with a c or a k so I consulted 

my cat. Her choice, unequivocal.

She asserts that catsup is, quite

obviously, the likelier spelling.

Gingee enjoys her opinions,

When she is out of sorts,

I whisper in her right ear,

concatenation, or any

of these words: cattily, 

catkins, hepcats, catseye, 

catcall, catchy, or catalectic.

She laughs at that last one,

so I looked up more long ones.

Dogcatcher and wildcatter

both earned a sustained snicker,

but here’s the one that appeals 

to her pride:  miseducate.

She seems to assume it’s a title

of respect.  She always responds well

when I call her Miss Smartypants.
