Rattled

 Rattled

The migrating part in that hair rattles me.

I swear it’s higher than it was and keep close

watch on the weird wisps he combs over

to cover what Ivanka termed scalp surgery.

I’m fairly sure the ducktail strands of side

and back are not as long as they were.

Does it take less adhesive now, to batten

it all down?  Less Executive Time to endure

the shouted press questions about immigrant

children in cages?  He boards for Mar-a-Lago,

holds the handrail, hurries up those steps,

knowing how absurd he’ll look if the full wind

fans out all the hair that’s left.  It’s that reality,

not any legality, that rattles him the most.
